School of Chocolate (2021)
Director: Tom Djokaj
Available on Netflix
A cooking reality show where the bottom in class does not get eliminated but instead gets a private lesson with the Master on honing his/her skills.

Hence the title ‘School of Chocolate’. Such a positive teaching approach is a refreshing change in the world of cutthroat reality baking shows. And this teaching-learning direction actually sees contestants growing, supporting and helping each other complete their tasks, which is quite unheard of in other reality shows.

Not forgetting the drool worthy chocolate and pastry creations coupled with mind-blowing techniques in 3D chocolate sculpturing, one can only be in awe of the attention to details and mastery of the host world-renowned French chocolatier Amaury Guichon.

Us (2019)
Director: Jordan Peele
My inspiration comes from watching outside work. I think personally there has to be input to get output and the more input one has the more diverse and nuanced the output becomes. I try to make time to watch shows whether it be theatre, dance or visual arts, and also watch a whole ton of movies. My current inspiration is with horror movies, especially psychological horror like “The Witch”, “Saint Maud” and “Us”.

I just got my third LP (Long Play) Vinyl record set this month and I absolutely love it! It is “Queen Greatest Hits” and it features Queen’s (the legendary rock band) most famous songs like Bohemian Rhapsody and We Will Rock you. I love this record set because I am a fan of Queen and this is my first album by them. This new addition marks the start of my Queen collection and I can’t wait to get more!

The rest of my record collection consists of 2 Michael Jackson albums and an original Michael Jackson limited edition 7 inch singles set. I think vinyl records are a great way to collect music you love as they are big and tangible, and they sound way better than digitally streamed music. Due to the delicate nature of a vinyl’s grooves and the player’s needle, I cannot skip songs or rewind. This encourages me to appreciate the flow of the album in it’s entirety which is something many of us take for granted. I hope to accumulate records from a vast range of genres and have a nice corner to show off my collection in the future.

I will get there one day!

On the 11th of December 2021, I attended my very first inclusive performance by A Little RAW Company — In/Out. I entered the performance space light-hearted and came out with a lot to think about.

Being the judgemental being we are, we cannot deny that most of us have this common misconception about the term “special needs”, but through this performance, I realised that these children are so much more than we think.

Seeing the children putting their thoughts into each individual piece, made the whole performance such a raw and close to heart experience, no doubt a number of the audience including myself felt a rush of unspeakable emotions while watching.

It was definitely an eye-opening experience and I hope that such works will be able to reach wider audiences.
