The Enabling Lives Festival (ELF) is a signature event organised by SG Enable to rally stakeholders, corporates, philanthropies and the community, to come together to celebrate the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. In conjunction with SG Enable’s 10th Anniversary, the festival theme is ‘Celebrating Inclusion and Abilities’ anchored on three programme pillars – Celebrate, Collaborate, Champion, reflecting SG Enable’s long-term commitment to strengthen the social fabric of our community across all abilities and to make Singapore a more inclusive place to live and work in. The 3rd Edition of ELF will be held from 30 November – 3 December 2023.
Curious Steps showcases how performers with different abilities can be engaged in dance to express themselves and work collaboratively to present their creative ideas through movement.
Inspired by Australian writer Rebecca Ray’s text, Curious Steps, an interdisciplinary performance by A Little RAW (ALR) Company explores the play between movement and text as a metaphor for uncertainty and a way to approach unfamiliar spaces with curiosity. The cast of dancers with diverse abilities will explore distinct perspectives and creative processes in deriving movement from text.
Through this immersive 45-minute performance, we hope to uncover the uncertainties in our everyday lives and learn to embrace it. It’s an embodied experience that inspires mindful play and the dynamic interpretation of sound, text and actions from diverse perspectives. The spontaneous interactions between audience and performers further add an element of unpredictability.
Using everyday objects, the audience will be invited to join the performers in discovering ways of feeling the space around them.

This film screening and discussion involves a digital presentation of two films, A Green Dot & Faces. Both films feature how people with diverse abilities engage in creating movements through conceptual ideas. There will be a post-screening discussion with the different stakeholders in the production of the films.
FILM 1: A Green Dot is a dance film, conceptualised by co-directors Ricky Sim and Wong Wai Yee, in collaboration with ALR performers. In this digital presentation, the dancers bring us on a journey to discover how one adapts and thrives in an environment that divides.
FILM 2: Faces is a film about encounters—each volunteer is seated across Enjie in an activity of parallel portraiture. In this work, Enjie offers an alternative means of interaction with the person he meets.
This 1-hour film screening and discussion with the co- directors, performers, and facilitators, aims to educate and inspire communities about the benefits of offering long term platforms to develop and integrate in an inclusive environment through the Arts.
